About me

My name is Rebecca Went. I am a wife and mother to my beautiful daughter Lyla. My husband and I got married at the beginning of 2020 and at the end of the year we found out we were expecting. We welcomed our daughter in September 2021 and we were instantly filled with love, joy and all the emotions that parenthood brings. Fast forward to January. We were 4 months into parenthood and completely exhausted. I was up every 2 hours at night feeding and battling for 30-75mins to get her to fall back asleep. I was clueless as to what to do to help improve the situation. I remember being frustrated, tired, overwhelmed, and stressed out. But I did know something needed to change because we all were not receiving the sleep that we needed. Around this time, I remembered hearing about the Sleep Sense ™ program. I went onto the website and downloaded all the items I could receive, as well as the Sleep Sense ™ program by Dana Obleman. I read everything I could regarding my daughter and her specific sleep struggles. The first night we implemented our plan Lyla (and therefore myself and husband) had slept a successful and solid 10 hours…what!? I could not believe it! We kept up with the positive changes and to this day our daughter continues to have a restful 12 hours of sleep a night and sleep is no longer a struggle for us! I am so grateful of everything we learnt through that process and that is what motivated me to become a sleep coach myself.

My Background

I have always loved working with children of all ages and always found myself drawn towards career paths that involved children. I am a Practical Nurse and have worked in both hospitals and schools which brought me so much fulfillment. I have my early childhood educator certificate, worked in multiple daycares and was a nanny for some wonderful families. I have recently completed my training with Dana Obleman of the Sleep Sense ™ program to become a certified sleep consultant. I have learnt so many incredible things when it comes to sleep and am so excited to start this new journey! I want to give parents the tools and education they need to help improve their child’s sleep, set them up for stress free bedtimes, and educate them on all things sleep when it comes to their little ones! Sleep is such an important part of our lives and something that we need to function and ultimately be happy. I can help you find the solace in sleep, for your family.

Rebecca saved our sleep. After our daughter had hip dysplasia surgery, she couldn't sleep away from us, so we began cosleeping. I didn't see a way to get her out of our bed and into her own without it being so difficullt and filled with crying. Instead we got a beautiful, peaceful sleep training journey that was easy on our whole family, but especially mom and baby. Rebecca supported us the whole way. She was on call and responded quickly, she made a custom sleep plan for us and she was incredibly supportive of my emotions.
